Adventure awaits residents of WeldenField & Rowe communities, with leisure amenities, community gardens, pristine local landscapes and more. Use these 5 tips for enjoying the great outdoors this summer.
As we slowly begin reopening our society and economy after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, the opportunities for enjoying the great outdoors this summer are limitless...especially for residents of WeldenField & Rowe’s luxury-style custom home communities.
From the gorgeous waterscapes of The Retreat at Bennett’s Creek and Riverview at the Preserve to the cozy fire pits of The Retreat at Kemps River, there’s more to explore this summer...close to home. We want all of our residents to venture out and take advantage of the environmental amenities right outside their doors. In today’s blog, we delve into 5 key tips for enjoying the great outdoors this summer, without having to venture far from home.
Tip #1- Get some sun while summer reading on the sun shelf by the community pool.
Get some sun while summer reading by the community pool. Don the sunscreen, get your favorite paperback (or eReader) and walk over to your community pool for some rest and relaxation by the water. Enjoy the cool water while getting rays along the sun shelf at your community’s pool. For summer reading, try Jennifer Weiner’s “Big Summer”, “The Jetsetters: A Novel” by Amanda Eyre Ward or any of the titles on Good Housekeeping’s 2020 Summer Reading List. Better yet, start your own poolside summer book club! Call your neighbors, space out the lounge chairs (be mindful of social distancing) and meet weekly to discuss your good reads!
Tip #2- Get your hands dirty in the community garden...or a patio garden closer to home.
Summer is a great time to get down and dirty in the soil by tending to your gardening projects. Take advantage of the community garden at The Retreat at Bennett’s Creek and see what your neighbors are planting. Or for green thumb fun closer to home, start a small container garden from the patio of your new Potomac home. According to the 2020 Farmer’s Almanac, it’s not too late to start planting these prized summer veggies.
Tip #3- Be a good sport...on the water by kayaking, sailing or fishing.
For the boaters, sailors and water-lovers among us, The Retreat at Bennett’s Creek is perfect for you. Conveniently store your kayak when you’re not out on the water at our Kayak Storage and take advantage of the boat slips right at the pier with the pavilion. Invite your friends for a morning on the water, then return for a picnic lunch at the pavilion. Watch the waterfowl play, swoon and swim as you enjoy your afternoon with friends.
At Riverview at the Preserve, residents have the option to enjoy their own private piers and boat docks. Scenic views and access to the intracoastal waterway are yet more reasons to enjoy the waterfront lifestyle available at your new WeldenField & Rowe home.
Tip #4- Take it easy and enjoy sketching or birdwatching.
The outdoor benches at Riverview at the Preserve are perfect for leisurely pastime activities like birdwatching or sketching. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, Riverview at the Preserve is ideal for those wanting to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolitan life. We invite you to get some R&R in the splendor of the natural environment as you watch the waterfowl land or work on the latest pieces in your sketchbook.
Tip #5- Or learn a new one at the bocce ball courts.
If you’ve never heard of bocce, you’re missing out! Also known as Italian lawn bowling, bocce is one of the world’s oldest lawn games. At The Retreat at Bennett’s Creek, residents can enjoy perfecting their game with the convenience of bocce ball courts minutes from their doorsteps. Interested in learning more about the sport?
